Where does it all come from?

It is said that we use only ten to twenty percent of our brains. I wonder what we could do if we could exploit the entire capacity of our brains? Can we read a entire book in a few seconds, and then remember every sentence from that book? Or will we develop new abilities? Maybe we will get new powers like in Heroes. But, I highly doubt that. In Heroes, these abilities are work of evolution;apparently, these powers are the next thing big in evolution. Maybe, maybe not. But i think evolution will more subtle with its work; we may not notice a change for a few more decades. But who am I to say anything, I'm no Geneticist. I don't know the exact science of evolution. I only know what I have learnt in my biology class and over the net. But nonetheless, I shall speculate.

So if we were able to utilize the full capacity of our brains, will we acquire new traits or new abilities? But, before we jump into that. Let's look at why we would need to use the full capacity of our brains. What circumstances would require for us to use the full capacity of our brain? Maybe, an apocalypse. But the then question arises "What kind of Apocalypse?" Natural Disaster? Epidemic? Anarchy? Or Alien Invasion?
I don't think a natural disaster would do the trick. It would be too quick. We will need something that lasts long enough for our genes to mutate and bring about the desired change. Natural Disaster will just wipe out most of humanity in a matter of days, though, the ensuing natural conditions, if they are different than the earlier conditions, might bring about a slow adaptation to the environment in the surviving humans (if there are any left and they are able to sustain their continuity, which I guess they will once they adapt). So I don't think that really helps us now. It is too slow, and we just become Humans 2.0.

How about an epidemic? A virus or a parasite infests itself in the largest available food source - Humans. The whole of humanity is affected, and the human body may experience a change. There will definitely be a change, but wouldn't that be a forced change? Isn't the virus forcefully bringing about the changes in the human body it requires to survive? But, we are looking at a change in the gene that would help in boosting our pre-existing traits So, would it mean that virus is not the answer? Well, I would say don't be too quick to jump to conclusions. What if we are infected with a deadly virus(something which we can never become immune to), which kills most of humanity, but leaves out a certain amount of the population. Suppose, this remainder of the population is able to sustain itself for a decade or so, by which time the virus has spread to everyone left, but it is not that deadly anymore and the body has found a way of using the virus for improvement or restructuring of the Human design (of course it would mean that the body also finds a way to give the virus what it needs to survive). Now, if it is improvement, then one of the possibilities could be the higher brain power, which in turn could mean increased abilities or higher functioning of the pre-existing traits(basically super humans). On the other hand, if it is restructuring the human design, then it would mean the birth of a new species and maybe they will have much higher brain power or they might end up having none(It is unpredictable, way too many factors and variables too even consider). Either way, it doesn't matter to us, humans. We are interested in acquiring higher brain power while we are still humans. I guess, 'improvement' is beneficial to us. Let's note that and put it aside for now.

What's next? Anarchy. Come to think of it anarchy will follow any apocalyptic scene. So it is really quite useless in our present conversation. I guess it was a Random Neurotic Discharge. Moving on.

Alien Invasion. Now, if the aliens who decide to invade our planets are dumb fucks who haven't done their homework about our planet and come here just choke in our atmosphere while they are invading, well then, they are not much of a challenge and they deserve to die. If we get the SUPER (heavy emphasis on super) intelligent beings which can actually predict the future by taking into consideration all the factors, and i mean ALL the factors, involved in shaping our future and computing the data and know our every move in the future, and if they plan to suppress our species just for the fun of it, then, we are FUCKED. We might as well rip our brains out and let these beings use us as puppets(well i guess they would do the same even if we had our brains, because our intellect holds absolutely no value compared to theirs).

But, what if we got the middle guys? The ones who have done their homework about our planet, made elaborate plans on how to invade our planet and also on how to use us later on for their own stuff, but not SUPER intelligent . For conversation's sake, lets say they are successful in invading earth and have enslave mankind. Maybe that they have reached their maximum potential and cannot evolve further(don't ask questions! just imagine!). I guess then, humanity would stand a chance, as we have the ultimate weapon at our disposal - EVOLUTION. As we are enslaved, it is quite possible that many humans can find their way into these being's lab experiments and research, as test subjects. Infact, lets make every single human a test subject. So, these beings would be testing on us humans, pushing us to our limits in all possible areas, almost killing us, but not. At the same time, sustaining our bodies with perfect care.

Lets say they go about it for decades and maybe centuries. Constantly stretching our limits. Soon, it is inevitable that evolution will start working around the threat, you know, silently and subtly working on enhancing human abilities to their maximum potential but making sure it is not too evident. Since, I'm giving the humans a few centuries of enslavement and very close interaction with these beings, I can say that our minds would slowly evolve to understand these beings, study and analyse them, very secretly, to a point where we have figured out how to overthrow these beings. In the meantime, evolution is working its magic and perfecting humans to be completely invincible to the present threat, the invaders. All this slowly building up to a point where the ultimate evolved state is primed and ready, waiting for a trigger to orchestrate the ultimate uprising designed by nature. These beings will never see it coming, and humans will prevail and blah blah blah blah.....earth regained, humanity back on top of the things and all that blah. But, my point being here is that humans would have evolved to such a state as to use the full extent of their brains and also be able to sustain such massive energy usage.

This is another circumstance where we can reach the maximum potential of our brain. So, now we have two scenarios where humans evolve into super beings. Now, how about we merge the two scenarios? .........................................
I know, right! It's just fucking @#$!@%#@#!!!!!
It's beyond imagination! More like Uber Humans!

Now that's as far as I got with this one Random Neurotic Discharge. More when I have another.

  2. Completely acceptable wishful thinking :D. Don't we all want to be awesome super men/women minus the underwear over the spandex bodysuit :P
